Tufan is a 2024 Bengali language action thriller film.Produced by Shahriar Shakeel, Redwan Roni, Srikanth Mohta and Mahendra SoniBangladesh's Alpha Eye, Charki and India's Shree Venkatesh Films . It was directed by Raihan Rafi . However, Alpha Eye's leaderclaims that Bangladeshi OTT platform Charki will work as a digital partner and SVF as an international distributor. Starring Shakib Khan , Mimi Chakraborty and Masuma Rahman Nabila . The story of the film revolves around a gangster in 1990s Bangladesh.

The name of the movie was announced on December 11, 2023 at a five-star hotel in Dhaka. Mimi-Shaqib has already completed the first schedule of the film in Hyderabad. Some parts of the film were also shot in Kolkata.

The film's first song "Lage Ura Dhura" was released on May 28, 2024, marking the silver jubilee of Shakib Khan's career.  The melody of the chorus part of the song is taken from the first part of the song "Ghum Bhangai Gelo Re Morar Kokile" by renowned musician Matal Razzak Dewan, which was written by Sharif Uddin. The rest of the song is written by Russell Mahmood and Sharif Uddin, music and music composed by Pritam Hasan.  The song, sung by Pritam Haasan and Debashree Antara, was included in the film to match the 90s timeline. Pritam Haasan and director Raihan Rafi make a special appearance in the song.

The film has been announced to be released in theaters in Bangladesh on June ^{and internationally on the 28th, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2024.} 

On 5 June 2024, the film was cleared by the Censor Board of Bangladesh without any cuts.

Controversy

Early in the film's production, many newspapers promoted the film as an Indo-Bangladesh co-production , with India's SVF and Bangladesh's Charki and Alpha I as the producers. However, while submitting it to the Bangladesh Film Censor Board, it is mentioned that only Alpha Eye of Bangladesh has produced it. At the BFDC, leaders of 19 film-related organizations raised questions about the production and financing of the Tufan movie.

There were also allegations against the movie that the teaser was screened in theaters without censor clearance.
